Raymond and Madge Daugherty founded Daugherty's Orchards in 1947 at its current location in Murrysville, PA. Raymond worked at Westinghouse and started the farm on the side with his wife and family. The farm began as a Peach Orchard and was the largest in Westmoreland County. He ran a successful business until he passed away in 1966. Madge took over the farm with the help of her youngest son John. Due to climate changes and weather conditions, peaches became difficult to grow and the crops transferred over to apples and vegetables. John married his wife Lois in 1969 and operated the farm together for the last 43 years. On January 6, 2013, John lost his battle to colon cancer. Lois continues to run the farm with the help of several family members. This will be a very challenging year as we are learning and transitioning. We hope that you will work with us and continue to support us. We work extremely hard to provide the freshest produce at the lowest prices.
Road side market in Murrysville is opening for the season on July 17, 2013.
Homemade Pies will be available. To place orders call (724) 327-1603.
